Sharing our memories and artifacts of SFU

The Â鶹ÊÓƵRetirees Association has a new YouTube channel at .

There are only a few videos in the channel at the moment, but they will likely spark some memories for many of our members — from the videos of the Radical Campus event to the 40th anniversary celebrations to a video about the Pipe Band’s 25th anniversary in 2006. (And can you believe that Â鶹ÊÓƵSurrey opened exactly 20 years ago?)

We know that Â鶹ÊÓƵretirees hold the institutional memories of the university. We’d love to hear from you if you have any more videos that we can upload to this YouTube channel. We’d be particularly interested in sharing personal videos of SFU’s 50th anniversary fireworks if you took them, and of course we will credit the donor.

Additionally, we have been working with Â鶹ÊÓƵArchives on our Magical Time book. We have learned that they are interested in receiving Â鶹ÊÓƵartifacts which may have been lost to time and staff transitions, and which may only exist in personal collections today. They have sent over a help sheet about how to donate your materials to Â鶹ÊÓƵArchives.

If you have any artifacts, recordings or photos in your personal collections, and would like to share them with the world, please contact us at retirees@sfu.ca or contact Â鶹ÊÓƵArchives directly.
