We evaluate your application based on your academic qualifications, work experience and interest in the field. You should have one year of work or volunteer experience in career development or a related field such as teaching, coaching, marketing, management, human resources or customer service. You should have some post-secondary education (e.g. an undergraduate degree). If you do not, we may still consider your application if you can demonstrate substantial practical experience.

To complete the required practicum, you must be a resident of B.C. and legally entitled to work in Canada, as well as have a recent criminal record check. Please read details here.

Please note this intensive program requires a full-time commitment (Monday to Friday) and therefore students are unable to work during the program hours, including practicum.

Please include the following with your application:

• A resumé that includes your education and work history
• A statement of interest
  Please tell us about your experience and interest in career development and let us know why you think the Career Development Practitioner Certificate is right for you. (approx. 150 - 200 words).
