SCA's Co-Lab class presents an experiment in analogue performance.
Based on the theme and directives of Analogue, this performance experiment rejects the digital, the overwhelm of information, the screen, the multiplicity of presence and works with materials, presence, analogue technology, and time. Who are we away from the glow of our screens, the prompts of our channels and algorithms?
Parental discretion is advised.

CAST
Angelina Bertin (she/her) is a second-year Dance Major. Having grown up on the unceded ancestral territories of the Musqueam Tseil-Waututh and Squamish nations, she is curious about movement and its connection to our bodies and the spirit.
Aiden Gobillot (he/him) is a fifth-year Music & Sound Major. In Human Mechanism, he explores machines, labour, and paper.
Justin Ng (he/him) is a second-year Theatre & Performance Major who is perhaps a bit too obsessed with acting, theatre, and film. In Human Mechanism, Justin combines late-night shows with classic theatre, collaborating with other students for music and playwriting.
Caitlin Terrell (she/her) is an Anishinaabe/Irish multidisciplinary performer in her fifth year pursuing a double major in Music & Sound and Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies. Caitlin is forever honoured to be able to create performance art and community within in the unceded, stolen lands of the s蓹lilw蓹ta涩 (Tsleil-Waututh), k史ik史蓹茮 虛 蓹m (Kwikwetlem), S岣祑x瘫w煤7mesh 脷xwumixw (Squamish) and x史m蓹胃k史蓹y虛蓹m (Musqueam) Nations. Caitlin hopes her work can lead conversations and community-building towards truth and reconciliation across Turtle Island.
Lana/Axis Schering (she/her/ve) is a gender non-conforming performance-based artist currently in her fourth year as a Dance Major. Lana is interested in exploring the stories held in the minute places of the body and expanding them into a macro scale. Ver work forgoes the distinctions between performance disciplines to explore ideas beyond labels.
Chelsea Thistle (she/her) is a second-year Theatre & Performance Major who is excited to embrace the analog in both her artistic practice and her life. She loves tocreate theatre that is unconventional, surreal, and emotional. She adores that Human Mechanism is a testimony of those qualities in humanity.
Jae Young (Valen) Park (he/him) is a second-year Theatre & Performance Major and Music & Sound Minor. In Human Mechanism, Jae explores the concepts of self-restraint and piercing distress through sound.
Duncan MacDonald (he/him) is a fifth and final year Music & Sound Major from Saskatchewan. In Human Mechanism, he explores collaboration and improvisation via the analog medium of no-input mixing. He found the mixer on the sidewalk in the rain.
