Â鶹ÊÓƵengages the public in many ways, such as: seminars, courses, lectures, dialogues and panel discussions. One particular way to engage the community is through bringing in experts who can share their knowledge, invite questions and generate public dialogue on topical issues relevant to society. This idea was the catalyst for the launch of the Â鶹ÊÓƵVancouver Speaker Series in 2012, a joint initiative supported by Â鶹ÊÓƵVancouver, Â鶹ÊÓƵPublic Square, and Â鶹ÊÓƵVancity Office of Community Engagement. Since then, thought leaders such as Gwynne Dyer, Naomi Klein, Shabina Azmi, and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Ressa, have brought hundreds of community members together to learn, listen, and contribute to knowledge dissemination and idea generation.
