Focus and Scope

Each year The Lyre editorial team carefully formulate a cohesive theme and send out a call for submissions that invite writers and artists to reflect and respond in their own creative ways to that year's theme. 

Who can submit? 

The Lyre Magazine is committed to publishing work by undergraduate writers and artists. Undergraduate students of any discipline and institution are encouraged to submit pieces. Non-undergraduate students and Â鶹ÊÓƵgraduates are also welcome to aply. Priority will be given to Â鶹ÊÓƵundergrads, but all submissions are welcome and all will be read carefully and considered. 

What to submit? 

We believe that creativity knows no bounds, which is why we eagerly accept an array of literary forms. From short stories that ignite the imagination to essays that challenge the intellect, The Lyre accepts poetry, prose, essays, interviews, monologues, plays, travelogues, graphic stories, digital and material artwork, photography, and translation. From evocative poetry to visually stunning artwork, our pages are a canvas for expression.
